Anne listens to young people's ideas and concerns.

Anne combines her real-world knowledge of politics and government with traditional textbook information as an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Lindenwood University.

Anne talks with a constituent about access to affordable health care.

Anne tours Cadco Inc, a local manufacturing facility to learn more about the types of hi-tech jobs that are available now and what will be available in the future — and what type of education and training will be needed for those jobs.
Education for the Future
In order for the United States to remain competitive in our global environment, the students of today must be educated to meet the workforce needs of tomorrow.  Emphasis in the areas of technology, math, science and engineering will be critical to our domestic and international competitiveness.  We must demand fiscal accountability and responsibility at all levels of education to assure public funds are being used for appropriate and productive classroom instruction instead of high overhead administrative costs.

100% Pro-Life
Anne is proud to be 100% pro-life; she believes life begins at conception.  She considers it a privilege and a duty to protect the unborn and will stand firm on her commitment to life.

Illegal Immigration
Anne supports the passage of strict illegal immigration reform which protects the businesses, entrepreneurs, schools and jobs in our community so we who are here legally, working hard and paying taxes for governmental services can support our families.

Improving Access to Affordable Health Care
Anne plans to work to improve access to affordable health care.  Health care is a very complex issue; remedies must be multi-faceted.  Somehow market demand must be utilized to control the costs.  People who are doing the right thing, paying high premiums just as they are asked to do, are losing the level of services for which they are paying.  Anne will make access to affordable health care a top priority.

Economic Development
Anne believes we need to look at the needs of our cities and counties as we attract business and jobs.  Businesses we attract need to be those whose jobs pay a wage that is at a family-supporting rate.  High quality education and training will ensure our workforce will be prepared to fill the family-supporting jobs we attract.  Anne will work to bring in state dollars earmarked for transportation improvement to continue to update the roads and streets in the 18th District.

Property taxes, although a reflection of the growth of our community, can become excessive.  We need to protect seniors on fixed incomes and all homeowners from excessive increases by regularly evaluating the property tax formula established by the state to make sure property tax rates are reasonable.

Democracy was designed to encourage the discussion of issues from different perspectives.  Anne will encourage input from various perspectives from both sides of the isle as State Representative in developing legislation that is meaningful, productive and sensible for the constituents in her District and for the citizens of Missouri.
