Zerr Files for State House Seat in District 18

(St. Charles) - Anne Zerr of St. Charles has filed with the Missouri Secretary of State’s office as a Republican candidate for the Missouri House of Representatives in the District 18 primary scheduled for August 5, 2008.

“St. Charles has been fortunate to have had influential leaders like Tom Dempsey, Chuck Gross and Steve Ehlmann representing St. Charles in the Missouri House and Senate.  I plan to work hard to continue to move St. Charles forward.  I am looking forward to the privilege of serving the people of St. Charles in the Missouri House of Representatives,” said Zerr.

Zerr’s interests lie in high quality public education - making sure our students are prepared to be successful in tomorrow’s workplace; economic growth and job opportunity - a workforce ready to meet tomorrow’s job needs, along with state policies that assist businesses in creating new, family-supporting jobs; health care – citizens having access to affordable health care; and immigration.

A longtime St. Charles City resident, Zerr and her husband, Mick, have three children:  Katie, Danny and Craig.  She has served as Executive Director of Partners for Progress, Adult Admissions Director for Lindenwood University, Director of Policy Development for Joe Ortwerth when he served as St. Charles County Executive, Local Government Manager for the East-West Gateway Council of Governments, and Director of Community Affairs for SSM St. Joseph Hospital West.  The 18th District Seat became vacant when then-Representative Tom Dempsey was elected to the 23rd Senatorial District Seat.
